What is cyberbullying?

“Cyberbullying has been defined as willful and repeated harm inflicted through the use of email, cell phone, instant messaging, and defamatory Web sites” (Mesch 388).

Cyberbullying is:

  • Intentional
  • Deliberate
  • Ongoing

Cyberbullying takes place on a limitless time schedule.  Unlike classroom bullies who stop when they have to go home from school, cyberbullies can harass their victims from anywhere, anytime of the day.
